My parents did buy their first dachsdog before I was born and during all the years we both have wire- short- and longhaired dachsdogs in the family. They did get a very good dog so the breeder introduce them to dogshows. We were going to shows with the breeder and became so good friends with that family. This breeder, Mr Rolf and Mrs Karla Gyllin, Björnslunds Kennel, did beacame the mostwinning kennel in Sweden with his dachsdogs by this time.
When I was 7 year there was a summerhouse for rent just beside the kennel and we moved in. They did also have a girl in my age so we did have so much fun and we are still the best friends. It was such a lovely and educational time of my life. Rolf was my idol as a child and when I did get a bit older I just admire his knowledge and did learn everything about dogs, genetic, nursing, feeding and breeding that I could from him. He sadly pasted away much to early and just before I did get my first standardpoodle.
We did have the summerhouse until I was adult. Then I did meet a man that was allergic to dogs but poodles was ok because of the coat. Talk about problem, I had always walk around on shows laughing at the poodlepeople They have to be crazy fixing coat like that! Anyhow, at that time I did se a TVshow, Candid Camera. There was a silver standard in continental trim changing for a silver toy in the same trim, when the occasional handler didn’t see the change behind his back. I can still laugh when I remember the chock the handler did get turning around. I remember one said laud “Oh my good, what is your owner going to say when he sees you
”OK, I said, I want one like that big one in that color, lets cheek it up. At that time we didn’t have so many breeders on standards in Scandinavia and just one with silver and she did have her pups booked for a long time. So, I did get my first standard, Charlie, black male, born 1981, from kennel Liliencron, the breeder was the famous international judge Birthe Larsen- Rosvall. Rather fast after that the last dachsdog died and I did have a workingfriend, that did have a sister that couldnt take care of her black standardbitch because of a divorce. So, then we did get our kennels foundationbitch, Cajsa, born 1980.
Breeding and showing black was so stimulated but I did never forget my dream, a silverstandard. After a couple of years I did start to find a really nice silver, but there were so few they were not good enough. 1993 I did see my silverdream in reality, Pinafore Spearmint. After a very long negotiation with the owner I was able to buy her, Connie, born 1991. In to our life she came, the most lovely dog and “my dreams came true” and we did have our foundationbitch on silver.

I often think about Elisabeth Drake ( Harbovi Kennel) once did tell me:
"So nice for you and the silvers that you did start showing and breeding with the black standard"
I did not understand what she did mean about saying this so I did ask her what she meant.
Then she did say:
"You will never accept a silver standard that are not so good as the black one"

Were did the time go?
